Dr Rehan Haidry, Consultant Gastroenterologist and Clinical Lead for Endoscopy at Cleveland Clinic London, was recently filmed performing a live Esoflip procedure, part of an educational initiative led by Medtronic Europe to showcase advanced therapeutic techniques in endoscopy.

The footage, captured during a real-time intervention for a patient with Barrett’s Oesophagus,  highlights the clinical impact of Esoflip in stricture management, even for those with highly refractory post-RFA strictures. In the live case, the Esoflip balloon catheter was used to successfully dilate the narrowed segment of the oesophagus, significantly improving the patient’s ability to swallow.

As one of the earliest adopters of Esoflip in the UK, Dr Haidry and the Cleveland Clinic London team are helping shape best practice across Europe. The procedure was performed using the Endoflip 300 system, which provides real-time measurements of luminal geometry and pressure, enabling precise, patient-specific interventions for motility disorders and structural abnormalities.

Medtronic will use the footage on its educational platforms, medical webinars and training materials to guide others working in advanced endoscopy across Europe. This collaboration reflects Dr Haidry’s ongoing commitment to innovation in foregut disease management and his leadership in minimally invasive endoscopic therapies.

By sharing clinical expertise and procedural insights, Dr Rehan Haidry continues to advance care for patients with complex oesophageal conditions.
