Dr Rehan Haidry speaks at the European Foregut Society Annual Meeting in Athens, Greece
November 2025 — Athens, Greece
Dr Rehan Haidry, Consultant Gastroenterologist and Clinical Lead for Endoscopy at Cleveland Clinic London, was invited to speak at the European Foregut Society (EFS) Annual Meeting in Athens, one of the world’s leading congresses dedicated to oesophageal and foregut disease. As a recognised global authority in reflux diagnostics and minimally invasive endoscopic therapy, Dr Haidry contributed to several high‑profile sessions across the scientific programme.
The European Foregut Society brings together international experts in gastroenterology, surgery, physiology and foregut research, with the aim of advancing best practice and improving outcomes for patients with reflux, motility disorders and upper GI conditions. As a member of the Society, Dr Haidry plays an active role in shaping the future of foregut care.
Key Contributions at EFS Athens 2025
Dr Haidry participated in multiple sessions during the three‑day meeting, reflecting his leadership in advanced reflux management:
- Wednesday 5 November 2025 — Pre‑Congress Educational Course – Role of EndoFLIP in POEM – A specialist session exploring the use of EndoFLIP technology in motility and reflux procedures, delivered alongside leading European experts.
- Thursday 6 November 2025 — Merit Medical Industry Symposium – European Experience on Endoscopic GERD Treatment with EsophyX Z+ – Dr Haidry served as moderator for this session, which focused on endoscopic anti‑reflux interventions, including the TIF (Transoral Incisionless Fundoplication) platform.
These sessions highlight the growing global interest in incisionless and minimally invasive treatments for achalasia and gastro‑oesophageal reflux disease (GORD); areas in which Dr Haidry is widely regarded as a pioneer.
A World‑Leading Expert in TIF and cTIF
Dr Haidry is internationally recognised as one of the most experienced endoscopists in TIF (Transoral Incisionless Fundoplication) and cTIF (combined TIF with hiatal hernia repair).
He has:
- Performed hundreds of TIF procedures, placing him among the highest‑volume TIF practitioners in Europe
- Delivered multiple cTIF procedures in partnership with his surgical colleagues at the renowned Cleveland Clinic London
- Helped establish TIF and cTIF as safe, effective alternatives for patients seeking durable reflux control without long‑term medication or invasive surgery
His expertise in these procedures is a key reason he is regularly invited to speak at major international congresses. Reflux remains one of the most common conditions in gastroenterology and the need for minimally invasive treatment options has never been greater.
Dr Haidry’s contributions at the European Foregut Society meeting underline his commitment to advancing evidence‑based, patient‑centred reflux care — and to ensuring that innovative procedures such as TIF and cTIF continue to evolve as leading solutions for appropriate patients.
